First Responders & Medical Professionals
The individuals who are drawn to careers where they serve, often at great risk to themselves, are of a unique breed. Those who help, serve, protect, and heal others often do so at the cost of their own well-being. They are often highly motivated, resilient individuals who process inwardly and while they thrive as part of a team, they manage their struggles privately.

The experience of trauma is common in these professions, through direct trauma, secondary trauma, or compassion fatigue. Finding a therapist who will make you feel comfortable and understood while sharing the challenges and joys of your career is essential for healing. Though personal experience as the daughter of a fire captain, and professional experience working as a medical social worker in the Emergency Department and Trauma ICU, providing therapy for first responders, and volunteering for the First Responders Support Network, I have a unique perspective, empathy, and a fondness for dark humor that lends itself to the first responder population. I am honored when individuals in these professions trust me to be part of their healing journey.
